Importance of Taking a Break to Reflect, Thank and Plan

We are nearly at the year-end and ordinarily it is a very busy period when people are running around the city buying gifts and getting ready with the final preparations for the celebration of the New Year.

We always think we would do everything in advance and then things keep piling up and we end up exhausting ourselves.

What I would strongly encourage you to do is to find the time for yourself to slow down, make yourself a cup of tea (or your other favourite winter drink) and reflect on the things you are grateful for this year no matter what.

Take a sheet of paper and write a list of all the things you are grateful for this year. Try to go through all the months in your head. If at first you have difficulties remembering, open your pictures and go through them, it will help you remember what was happening in your private life this year and might bring back some lovely memories that seemed long forgotten. As for your professional sphere – your calendar and emails might bring back some important milestones that you are grateful for this year.

After you are done with this list of things you are grateful for, take another sheet of paper and start writing down the names of people you feel grateful for. After you are done with this list, you might want to text or call these people to express your gratitude.

The more things and people you find to be thankful for, the better you feel.

As for the planning for the next steps in upcoming year, here is a tool for you that might be a nice present to yourself or your loved ones who are interested in eliminating the chaos and getting organized. It will help you set the nearest objectives straight and track your progress along the way.

Happy New Year!
